Bishop Ranch (“BR,” “we,” “us,” or “our” (inclusive of City Center Bishop Ranch)) uses video surveillance cameras in certain common areas of the project. This Video Surveillance & Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect video surveillance information in accordance with applicable California privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”).
1. Notice at Collection (Video Surveillance)
BR collects video recordings that may identify individuals when they enter or move through certain common areas of the project, including the parking garages and walkways.
We collect this information for the purposes described below. We do not sell or share video surveillance information for any commercial use, including advertising or marketing purposes.
Notice of video surveillance is provided through posted signage in our property entrances, parking areas, and other appropriate locations.
2. Purpose of Video Surveillance
Video surveillance is used solely for legitimate business and security purposes, including to:
- Promote the safety and security of guests, tenants, employees, and property
- Deter, detect, and investigate theft, vandalism, and other unlawful activity
- Assist with incident review, response, and investigation
- Support parking and property operations
Video surveillance is not used for marketing, advertising, or consumer profiling.
3. Areas Subject to Video Surveillance
Video surveillance cameras may be located in common areas of the project, which may include:
- Parking lots and parking garages
- Drive aisles and vehicle entrances
- Building entrances and exits
- Exterior common areas and walkways
Cameras are not installed in areas where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy, such as restrooms or changing areas. BR’s cameras are not located in private tenant spaces.
4. Audio Recording
BR’s surveillance cameras do not record audio.
5.Use and Disclosure of Video Footage
Video surveillance footage is accessed only by authorized personnel, including the BR property management team (General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Property Manager) and service providers who require access for legitimate business and operational purposes and is used only for the purposes described in this policy.
We do not sell video surveillance information. Footage may be disclosed:
- To service providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations; or
- When required or permitted by law, including in response to lawful requests from law enforcement or governmental authorities.
6. Retention of Video Footage
Video surveillance footage is retained for a limited period of time, generally no longer than 90 days, unless a longer retention period is reasonably necessary for:
- An active investigation or incident
- Safety or security purposes
- Compliance with legal obligations
After the applicable retention period, footage is deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course of business.
7. Data Security
BR maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect video surveillance information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Members of the BR’s property management team who have access to the cameras receive training regarding appropriate use of the cameras and applicable privacy and data-handling requirements.
8. California Privacy Rights
To the extent video surveillance footage constitutes personal information under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents may have rights regarding that information, subject to applicable exceptions and limitations, including the right to request access to or deletion of personal information.
Requests may be denied where necessary to protect security, public safety, or the rights of others, or as otherwise permitted by law.
